ENHANCED LOGIN SECURITY

Beginning January 11, 2007, if you are not yet enrolled in Enhanced Login Security within Internet Banking, you will be prompted to enroll by adding extra security to your computer.

Enhanced Login Security is a new security service introduced in November that is free, easy, and most importantly, gives you extra protection from fraud and identity theft.

Enhanced Login Security identifies you as the true “owner” of your accounts. Now, not only will your password be recognized, your computer will be recognized as well. If we don’t recognize your computer as being enrolled for Enhanced Login Security, a temporary passcode will be emailed to your email address on file. This passcode is only valid for 60 minutes and will have to be entered before online access to your accounts will be granted. You will continue to be prompted for a passcode at each login until Enhanced Login Security is added to your computer.

Adding Enhanced Login Security:

By logging into Internet Banking, you will be prompted to add extra security to your computer.

  • On the Enhanced Login Security screen, leave the first (default) radio button selected and click Submit.
  • On the popup window, click OK to confirm your selection.
  • Extra security is now added to this computer.

If not prompted to add extra security, it can be added by going to User Options and clicking on Enhanced Login Security. You can add this extra security to as many computers as you wish.

Keep getting prompted for a passcode from a computer that you’ve already added extra security to?
This is probably happening because the secure cookie that was placed within your browser is getting deleted. This can happen if you delete cookies from your machine. This is a common method that Spyware blocker software uses to remove potentially risky items from your computer. These solutions typically remove ALL cookies as a precaution, even though very few cookies are actually security risks. In order to use this feature without being asked for additional information at each login, the secure cookie that we use to identify your computer must stay within your browser. In this situation, we recommend that you download Adobe Flash Player from www.adobe.com and then go to User Options within Internet Banking and add Enhanced Login Security. This will allow a flash-based cookie to be downloaded that will remain within your browser when other cookies get deleted.

If you are using a public computer such as at the airport or public library, extra security should not be added. In this case, a passcode can be sent to your email address on file, as described above.

We recommend that you view our Enhanced Login Security Demo to see how Enhanced Login Security works and read our Glossary to find frequently used online identify theft and online security terms.

Enhanced Login Security. Just another example of our commitment to fraud prevention, everyday and everywhere.
